Conspiracy theory on covid-19
Together As One is a non-governmental
organization that was created to inform the public about the effects and danger
of the conspiracy theory on Covid-19. At the end of 2019 there was a breakout
of a deadly disease in China called coronavirus and the news was spread
worldwide where people thought it was nothing. The virus was spreading
worldwide in the fastest speed where millions of people lost their lives due to
the virus.
Social media were the main source of conspiracy theory as lot of misinformation were shared via social media platforms. There were lot of conspiracy theory about Covid-19 because lot of people were saying that the virus is caused by 5G network. (Wasim et al.2020) states that the popular theory has linked 5G to the spread of Covid-19 leading to misinformation and the burning of 5G tower in the United Kingdom (1). This conspiracy theory has created lot of damages and death as people were destroying network, some did not believe that coronavirus is real until they experience it and led them to death.
This conspiracy theories confused lot of people because they were no longer sure to which is the truth or lie. Some social media users were sharing some misinformation saying that Bill Gate was responsible for coronavirus (Elise, T. Albert, Z. 2020) stated that 13% of Australian people believe that Bill Gates played a role in the creation and spread of coronavirus (2-3). (Elise, T. Albert, Z. 2020) stated that widespread theory that Bill Gates and Microsoft are engaged to use the Covid-19 crisis as a pretext for mandatory vaccination programs, and that the vaccines in turn are cover for implanting some form of microchip or other digital tracking device. The was chip considered by some to be the satanic ‘Mark of the beast’ (3). This type of conspiracy theory had also caused lot of confusion to the people as they do not want to get the vaccination because they are afraid of microchip or afraid to join illuminati organizations. All this conspiracy theory about covid-19 were all the lies and were created to bring fear to the people of the world.
The organization advise people
not believe everything from social media and learn not to every content from
social media platforms that are mostly about covid-19 with other people without
proper evidence. 5G is just a latest and fastest network but it does not cause the virus. People must continue wear face masks, sanitize and lastly
everybody got a choice, so people must stop misleading people about saying
negative staff about vaccines if they do not want to be vaccinated and leave
the people who want vaccines as it is their choice.
